2025-2026 Tryouts!

MVP will be holding both SUMMER & FALL Tryouts. Fall tryouts will be held to fill positions on open teams. Tryout ages and times are listed below: 

All MVP teams will be selected on a basis of "Grade Level".  You should attend the tryout that matches your Grade Level designation seen below.  Once the team is composed, the appropriate USAV skill level registration (National/American/Regional) will be chosen.  Should a team register national, all members of the team MUST meet additional birth date requirements.

What to Expect and Tryout Results

We are excited to host your athlete for tryouts! Below is a list of reminders and information about MVP tryout results.

• What are we looking for in a student athlete? Coachability, Effort, Attitude, and players that have FUN! 
• Remember those shoes and knee pads! Bring plenty of water.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow plenty of time for the check-in process.
• Our tryouts are CLOSED to parents. Parents must remain in the lobby of the Dayton Sports Complex

This is a nervous time for all. Most importantly it's the athletes time to shine. We want them comfortable so they can perform their very best.

Tryout Results

MVP will make offers either IN PERSON (in the gym at the end of any tryout session) or by phone or text message. These "first-round" offers are simply the offers made for the first 10 positions on a team; we want to get these offers in your hands as soon as possible! Please remember, if you do not receive an offer onsite this does not mean you didn't make a team - we do not extend all offers onsite or on the first day, and we may end up with additional openings if players decline an offer! If a player should decline an offer would then be made to the next player in line for that position.

Tryout results will be posted on our homepage as teams are filled.

MVP will be hosting open gyms for all athletes who would like to attend prior to tryouts.  Open gyms are FREE for any athlete who played for Miami Valley Phoenix last season. For any new athlete there will be a $5 charge per day.  Open gym dates will be announced prior to tryouts.

TRYOUTS – SUMMER 2025

U14 – U18 Age Divisions can have Summer Tryouts

• Summer tryouts can begin on Friday, July 11 and must conclude by OHSAA, PIAA, or WVSSAC designated dead periods. Players U10-13 can try out for an older age group if desired.

Summer Written Offers from Tryouts 

• Players may accept a written offer from a tryout anytime beginning July 11.
• Clubs CANNOT require written contract acceptance until Tuesday, July 15 at 6:00 p.m. This date allows players time to attend other tryouts and not feel pressured to sign an offered contract before completing any desired tryout. An offer can be pulled at 6:00 p.m. on July 15.  
• Any tryout starting July 15 or later must allow a minimum 48-hour decision timeline for any offers given.

TRYOUTS – FALL 2025

U10s - U11s can start on Friday, October 17 in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. o Players may accept a written offer anytime beginning October 17

•  Clubs CANNOT require written acceptance until Tuesday, October 21, at 6:00 p.m. This date allows players time to attend other tryouts and not feel pressured to sign an offered contract before completing any desired tryout. An offer can be pulled at 6:00 p.m. on October 21.
• Any tryout after October 21 or later must allow a minimum 48-hour decision timeline for any offers given
